Toddler Program

Our Toddler Program at our preschool in Sparks, NV is a wonderful way to introduce children to the school experience through child development. Potty training, learning to share, taking turns, and expressing one’s self with language are the focus for children in this class. We are committed to providing a safe and loving environment where each child is nurtured and supported to grow and explore their world. Our Sparks preschool and daycare center lets the children work both independently and in small groups. Your child benefits from attending our school because we put a great emphasis on letting our students learn through hands-on exploration and play. Learning Schedule

The daily schedule at our Sparks daycare is designed to provide children with age appropriate structure and provide your toddler with the security of routine. A balance of small group and large group activities, one-on-one with the teacher, and time for independent and cooperative play, gives children a full day of fun and learning. Learning experiences are enriched through activities planned especially for each child in music and movement, circle time, arts and crafts, large motor games on the playground, and pre-reading and pre-writing projects. Snack and mealtimes are important learning centers also, giving the teachers the perfect opportunity to see that the children are eating well and to teach about good nutrition.

We want to be your go-to preschool and daycare in Sparks which is why we partner with you, the parents, to create and implement an individualized education plan for each child. Parent-teacher conferences are offered twice a year and anytime upon your request to discuss your child’s progress, set goals, and to simply enhance communication around our child care in the greater Sparks, NV area.

Toddler Classrooms

Children are natural explorers. Our Sparks preschool classrooms are designed to encourage hands-on-exploration in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

One of the benefits of attending preschool is the various types of learning centers that are offered. Learning Centers include: the home living area, library, sensory, manipulatives, outdoor playground, and art and writing centers. In all areas of the classroom, children are presented with many opportunities to learn how to share materials and negotiate positive relationships with their friends and teachers.

Music & Movement, Literacy Development

Our Reno-Sparks preschool teachers create opportunities for musical enjoyment, encourage children to play instruments, invent and sing songs (which enhances language development), dance, wave about scarves or crepe paper streamers to musical rhythms. Teachers introduce concepts of interest to the children during Circle Time and by reading books which captivate children’s interests and promote foundational literacy skills.

Social & Fine Motor Skills, Art & Dramatic Play

Manipulative materials such as legos, large beads for stringing, puzzles, brightly colored cubes, and large plastic interlocking bricks, foster problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination.

Through art, children are provided opportunities to express feelings, learn about color, shapes, experience pride, develop small muscle skills, refine eye-hand coordination, and to share and cooperate with others in our Reno, NV child care program.

The centers are stocked with large crayons, markers, finger paints, chalk, play dough, cars and trucks that can be loaded and pushed, colorful picture books for naming objects and describing events, dolls and dress up clothes, games that are based on matching colors and shapes, and objects for sorting.
